Ledger is a secure reporting portal for an independent wealth management firm. It replaces quarterly PDF statements with a live view of portfolios, fees and performance — presented with the restraint and clarity the firm's clients expect.

The challenge

The firm's brand promised transparency, but its reporting was a 40-page PDF produced four times a year. Clients increasingly compared the experience to consumer fintech apps. The portal had to feel effortless while satisfying strict regulatory and audit requirements underneath.

01

Research

We interviewed clients across three generations of wealth holders. Older clients valued permanence and print; younger ones expected search and instant answers. The design had to serve both without splitting into two products.

02

Design

Typography does the heavy lifting: a calm editorial layout, generous margins and charts stripped of decoration. Every figure can be traced to its source with one click — transparency expressed as interaction, not as a slogan.

03

Development

Read-only replication from the firm's portfolio management system keeps data current without touching systems of record. Every view is exportable as a beautifully typeset PDF, so the old ritual survives for those who value it.
